Erin Murphy
Assistant Coach
Erin Murphy joins the Vermont Wild FC staff after previously playing three seasons for Vermont Fusion in the Women’s Premier Soccer League.
During her time with the club, Murphy earned Conference Best XI honors and was named both an East Region and National Player of the Week, helping lead Fusion to the 2021 Metropolitan Conference title, the 2022 Northeastern Conference championship, and a run to the WPSL National Quarterfinals. Her return to the program brings a valuable player perspective to the Wild coaching staff.
Murphy recently completed her collegiate career at the University of Vermont, where she was a two-year starting goalkeeper for the Catamounts after transferring from the University at Buffalo. Over her career in Burlington she started 27 of 28 matches, posting a 1.70 goals-against average, .735 save percentage, and five shutouts, while earning America East Academic Honor Roll recognition.
A respected leader on and off the field, Murphy served as co-president of the UVM Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was awarded the university’s Semans Trophy, given annually to the male and female student-athletes who best exemplify leadership, loyalty, and service to the institution.
Murphy holds a U.S. Soccer C Coaching License and has worked with the Vermont Olympic Development Program. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Leadership at Vermont State University Castleton, where she also serves on the men’s soccer coaching staff.
At Vermont Wild, Murphy returns to the program where she once played — now helping guide the next generation of players competing in the WPSL.
